Mods are much more complicated than plugins. Not every mod is compatible to another one. Installing multiple mods requires that all versions work together (Server-Software, mod A, mod B, mod C....). Having an error in the combination of mods causes the server to crash, completely. (If you have a wrong plugin installed the server just don't load it in most cases.)

Also we need to provide multiple versions of a mod which is currently not doable because there is no API which gives us the ability to update mods and handle their information. We have to do this manually at the moment.

With that huge amount of plugins my server would also lag.

Try to remove plugins, your server is just overloaded

In the screenshot above you're pinging google dns not your aternos server. Maybe you can ping your aternos server with icmp.

So, if your icmp is okay/normal but your mc not, i think it is the minecraft server who has problems not the network.
icmp and /ping are running on completely different layers. So, i think your server is overloaded or something like this.

If you just want to retrieve information about your server, you can try to use the server query interface.

How do you test your ping?
By doing /ping ingame or by a real icmp request?

What does crash? Your client or your server?
When does it crash? At startup or during you play?
Do you have additional mods installed?
Make sure that your client has got enough RAM to run.
Maybe you can share the log with us.
