No, you have to create a completely new world for worldwide void.

Download your world, remove the players directory and upload your world again. Then try to join your server again.

Please check the server console log for detailed error information to find out exactly why your server stops.

You can generate a void world in single player mode and upload it to Aternos then, or generate a void world using Multiverse-Core or MultiWorld, or making a void are with WorldEdit, but make sure not to overload your server, otherwise it will crash as you already experienced.

Please post the full server log to https://pastebin.com or https://hastebin.com for example.
