Hi, i play on a server with my dad and i am not sure if i can/should update the versions from 1.8.9 to 1.16.5 Bc i feel like that the game is kinda boring without the stuff in the newer updates but what if my world breaks when i do it

it wont break ive done it many time dont worry if it dose sry or you can add the plugins viaversion and viabackwards that will make it so you can join.
