Hello, it is I, xP4NC4K35x, but today I'll just go by the name Preston (my actual name).
The past month I've been playing on my Aternos server. I definitely enjoy Aternos and the things it has to offer, and as a person who has used Aternos since early 2016 I must say that this website has changed A LOT. In a good way, of course.
So, story time.
I am a person who loves working on big projects in Minecraft. More importantly, city projects. And that is what I've been doing for the past month on my server with a few other of my lovely friends. So far, the thing I'm most proud of so far is the Airfield I've made. But anyway, more importantly, lets get to the climax.
So, one of my friends who loves to mess around came on to the server and decided to make a giant TNT sphere (keep in mind he didn't blow it up). When I hear he was doing this, I wasn't really listening and so I didn't really care. Bad idea.
A week later, aka yesterday, I was making a river using voxelsniper. When I was flying around the river I came upon the giant TNT sphere and right away thought "shoot, I better remove this asap". Then, after about 15 seconds my game started to lag. And it really started to lag. I couldn't move until eventually, I crashed. I kept trying everything I can to fix it. I tried to do /kill in time so that I'll re-spawn back at my spawnpoint, but that didn't work. Hope was bleeding out.
At first, I got pretty pissed at my friend. Why did he have to make a giant sphere of tnt? It wasn't funny. It wasn't cool. But then I cooled down a bit and decided to try downloading the world again then re-uploading it to my server, Suddenly, I got a message saying that I can not upload a map over 200MB. My map was over 300MB. Also, before I continue on I just want to say YES it was a .zip file.
So, the main problem was that I had a file too big. So, I tried doing what I can to reduce the size. I did what it had suggested and tried using MCEdit. I tried my best using with a little help from some videos and some other forum posts, however I ended up with a world with f---ed up chunks. So, I tried doing something else, that being, deleting files in the region folder. But that got me no where, because I couldn't tell which files to delete and what not.
So here I am now. Right now it is winter break, and I've been really looking forward to working on my server. But nope, because someone wanted to make a pointless tnt sphere, now I can play on that world, or at least with friends (since I can play on it on singleplayer, but that is just kind of lame).
So, I guess my problem is is that I can't load my over-sized minecraft world onto my aternos server, even after trying to use MCEdit. Any help?
Thanks,
Preston
