I was so excited about the new 1.20 Trails and Tails update of minecraft that I decided to update my PaperMC 1.19.4 server to 1.20 and when I tried to change it back, a pop-up section appeared on my screen saying my world would be deleted. How do I change the version back to 1.19.4 without having my world accidentally deleted?

Can't change my version from 1.20 back to 1.19.4

Put all items in chest or something, then create a backup in case if you lost ur world, and set version to auto update (vanilla java and bedrock only)
-
download the world and then go to chunker.app and convert it to the version you want to downgrade your server to. Then downgrade your server and upload the world you put through chunker which it converted. everything should be the same

I will do so, thanks. But how do I download my world?

Use paper or purpur

If it has plugins, use new instructions!
Add ViaVersion plugin (add ViaBackwards and ViaRewind if u have friends from older version).
If it doesn't have plugins, switch to vanilla, then use old instructions.
-
You can't downgrade your world.
Why do you even want to do that?

You can't downgrade your world.
I don't want to hear your opinion, just answer my question if you know the answer

I already have those Via plugins and it works but I still want to downgrade it and using paper or purpur doesn't change the fact that it would delete my world if I try to downgrade it.

This is how to downoad: (I dont know if this downgrading stuff will work). Go to your server, then world, then download world. If you are wondering why this image does not have the force upgrade thing and something else, both bedrock and java server world management are like this but java has some extra options
-
Using a world on an older version is generally a really bad idea and will most likely break your world in one way or another

Hmm I'll see if it works and let you know otherwise, I'll have to deal with using the via plugins.

Should I download "world_nether" and/or "world_the_end" as well? Or only "world"? Also, after downloading my world, how do I put it into aternos?

Well depends on which world you want to downgrade to. you can downgrade all of them too. And the upload button is where the download button is! I'll attach the picture i uploaded befor down.

Download all of them -> downgrade the server -> start the server -> stop the server -> upload the worlds back
Also, it's kinda dumb to dislike a true statement.

Thank you very much!

Did it work?

Did it work?
Wait, I'm doing it right now.

If this doesn't work and I loose all my progress then I'm gonna cry because I was too lazy to make a decoy server to test it first. But, I do have a backup so I should be good.
