PermissionsEx Not Working

Hi, im having an issue with PermissionsEx.

PermissionsEx is working in the console but not in game, i gave myself the * permission but it still says "Sorry, you don't have enough permissions." I tried using different versions of PEX, different server softwares, restarting the server , creating new servers but still the same issue...

When I restart the server and execute the command /pl, PermissionsEx is red

Right now im using:

Software: Bukkit 1.8

Plugins: PermissionsEx, EssentialsX

Mc Version: 1.8.9 Optifine

Hey, it's working now. It wasn't working because i did pex user steveper add * without the ""
