Hello!
I have a suggestion to increase amount of time given to confirm you are
still waiting for the server to start.
Currently we need to wait 6-7 hours and I don't think people would just sit and
wait. And losing your position in queue just because you weren't ready when it came
to the end would be just bad. Also checking the site every 2-3 minutes would be
really annoying. So, I would set it to allow confirmation at 8 minutes point to
give some time to confirm it.

Very sad no one replied to you from the staff.. this should be a no brainer for them. I love Aternos and the service they provide but I already lost my position in queue 3 times just because I am not sitting here waiting to click their confirmation. I also don't understand what the confirmation is for? I already showed my intention to start the server, I'm obviously waiting if I left the browser window open. If they want to save on server capacity the server would go offline anyway if no one plays in it, so why does confirmation even exist. Very frustrating and it's visible from my message.
Btw 90 minutes lost on first one, then another 60-90 on second one. Now I am 16000+/19000 people. When exactly can I play? Well never because I don't have infinite time and today I already have other things waiting for me to do. Meanwhile they are making money from ads the whole time. Their free model is great and sounds very generous if you're 10 years old, but in reality the only one winning is them.
Although i do understand that the queue is hard on the one waiting, but you already did know about it and should arrange your schedule to be able to play. It's free for us and no, they don't make a lot of money. You see, ad revenue is based on cents for a lot of ads showed and if people don't click on them, it's even less. There is a lot of threads of people saying they wanted to help with money, but even so, it won't be enought to cover the expenses of the server. They're paying from their pockets and i don't even know how they can do it.
At leat be gentle about it and if the way the things work here aren't for you, i suggest to find another place to host your server. I had friends getting out of here because this wasn't for them.
Just trying to help, mean no harm. Sorry if it bothered you, but i thought it would be great if you could understand the way things work here... (yeah, i read a lot of their threads about helping)
The confirmation is required to make sure that the user is actually there and ready to play on the server when it turns online. Otherwise servers would start and require resources for several minutes and just turn off again. This is just a waste of resources. We could start servers for people who really play when the server turns online.
Due to our current situation we try to reduce the number of unnecessary starts as much as possible. This keeps the queue shorter.
As soon as your server is ready for confirmation you get notification, a sound is played. If you're not at the pc a longer confirmation time wouldn't help either.
