  • Hi, I had the urge to write this post as the files system in aternos kind-of needs some help. So a couple of months ago i was trying to upload “schematics” to aternos and that didn’t work which made me mad. And when i saw that uploading is unsafe for “security reasons” i was confused because some files can’t even be a “malware or a “virus” like schematics. So can it be some files like schematics be allowed to be uploaded. We can even have a vote for what file type should be accepted next.

Hope to hear from here so as I am trying to get it to work

    Thanks,

    Adrian

If a file is called whatever.schematic it doesn't have to be a schematic file.

File ending and actual content of the file can be different, so to check uploaded files we would need to check file contents. The effort to do this is currently too high.

  • Exactly, but if there is trusted file types for example schematics. They can't really hurt the servers and there can be a max Mb upload, I would like some further explanation on why this can't be possible. And i understand why ftp is not allowed but trusted files types is my suggestion and they don't have to be checked.

That's not what I was talking about.

I don't say that schematic files are bad, I said that it's hard to detect if a file is really a schematic file
