Red stone not functioning and named creature despawning

Few days ago my redstone stopped working. for example, pushing a button and it won't open the door and placing redstone block under the power rail doesn't activate it. There is another problem is the zombies in my iron farm which I named all despawned and it is kind of annoying that the iron farm I build stopped working and I have to break blocks to enter my room. Can someone help me with this problem. Thanks.

yes, it used to work on both vanilla and spigot, it is since resently the redstone started to not function, and the named zombies start despawning. by the way, I named all my zobies the same name, and I am not sure if that will cause any problem.
