Can you switch a server from modded to vanilla?

I'm paling on 1.16.6 with a friend but vanilla is fairly boring rn, can i change it to modded or will that break it? And how can i change it to modded anyways?

You can backup it and then choose Magma (1.12.2 mod / plugin loader)

It's not recommended to use magma if you don't want to combine mods and plugins.

Choose forge in any other case.
