You don't need a port to make a custom domain.

I'd actually guess that minecraft does that to keep the performance on a certain level, I suggest you switch to Paper to get better performance, additionally you can customize the spawn limits there

If you are on Spigot or Paper, you can change it in bukkit.yml

It looks like the server is taking too long to start, tho I can't be sure
