  • Just so it is said, the bug I am about to tell about I have only found in one of the newer modpacks (Atonement: Sins of the Past, which for some reason is in the "mods" section of the servers).

Now, the issue is one which I can see happening on many other servers/modpacks as well, and it is that Aternos cannot generate the custom form of world generation that is required by the modpack. Furthermore, it cannot load a save made by the client, and ends up having an error loading the items. What this means is that you cannot play the modpack the way it is meant to be played, and if you want to play it on Aternos you must go with a default world generation, totally unfit for the pack, to be able to play on a server.

The serverlog of a loaded world with proper world generation is attached, though it is in a .txt because if not I get the error "The message is too long, must be under 10,000 characters"

Note that even though it says there are many issues in the log, when going with SP you can easily start the same world

If it is possible to have Aternos server use the modpack to do the world generation, this issue might be solved.

Normally all modpacks are configured to use the right world generation settings.
If a modpack uses the wrong generator settings, just report it here and we'll have a look at it.

Also note that you overwrite the generator settiings by usingthe new world button.

  • After doing some testing, where I reinstalled the server w/modpack and started it with and without uploading client made maps, it is clear that when the server makes the maps itself (not using the "new world" button) it does not make it correctly.

After looking in configs I have come to the conclusion that the server is unable to read the config files in "config\dimensionalcontrol" correctly when creating a world, though I have yet to understand why it does not want to load a client save correctly.

It is also worth noting that the server does not read the config for Starting Inventory (-> as it stands now, you don't get the starting gear on server). If there is any way I can help more properly with this issue, I would be happy to do so.

PS: The modpack is still listed in the "mods" section in the version section when creating a server. I believe it should be moved to the modpacks section, under Curse, as that's where it belongs.

Which mod / modpack are you talking about?

Our system does not touch any of the server files out of the logs and the server properties. So, if there is an issue with reading config files or a misconfiguration at the modpack it is not caused by us.
