Server not working

So I made a pixelmon server to play with my friend. I sat in a queue for 25 minutes, which was insanely stupid. I started up the server and it took a long time to log in. Both me and my friend had trouble. When I looked at it I had 34 seconds to log in and it almost closed(like what the heck?). We got in in time. But the server was EXTREMELY laggy. It brought up the pokemon selection screen over 5 times even when we already chose our pokemon. The lag was extremely bad and then the server crashed. I went back to the main site and saw that the server was completely stopped. I clicked start again and had a 27 minute queue. I'm not doing this again, this was a complete waste of my time. But I want to know why the hel* the server was acting like this. Don't you guys have better hosts?
