Server can't be stopped

I played minecraft with my friend on my aternos server. We stopped playing and both went offline. Then i wanted to log out to use my other server but i couldn't because the server still showed it was online but in-game it wasn't. I tried reinstall the server but that didn't help me much. And after i let the time the server has to turn off automatically run out, it showed that a player is on the server but that wasn't true. Can anyone help me with this problem? Thanks!
