Edit server View distance?

Hello, I'm trying to find how to edit my server view distance

Reason being that it apparently has an influence on slime spawning, and we tried making a slime farm, and we couldn't get a single one to spawn despite being in a slime chunk, in the lower levels etc

Looking around, forums suggested making the server view distance 12

is this possible?

Mhm, guess I'm going to wire up a spawner with some command or something then... try to mimic a normal slime-chunk behaviour
