  • Version / Modpack: Tekkit Classic 3.1.2

    Example server log: https://mclo.gs/vG4MMnt

Example client log: see attached log file and screenshot

    World file: https://drive.google.com/file/…1Z1xjY4O/view?usp=sharing

(Before you ask, I've been using dyn-ip. I have been playing for a couple of weeks with it, the disconnects are new.)

tl;dr: Server disconnects inconsistently with "Internal exception: java.net.SocketExeption: Connection reset" shown to the client and "disconnect.overflow" in the log file when I get near a large amount of pneumatic and items. Apart from that area, server works fine and does not lag even when that area is loaded by the server. Sometimes I can play for hours without disconnecting even when in that place, sometimes it refuses to let me play for over 2 seconds.

My tekkit classic server has been throwing up an error and disconnecting when connected to. The person connecting to it is able to briefly move, and is then disconnected with the error message "Internal exception: java.net.SocketExeption: Connection reset". The server logs show the error message "disconnect.overflow". I've heard conflicting reports about what these messages mean. I'll note that this disconnect only happens in the area where I've been using a lot of pneumatic tubes for auto crafting, and I suspect that the disconnect is related to the amount of entities in the area. However, this cannot be the entire reason for the disconnects as I am still able to connect seemingly at random even while the entire crafting line is running, with the same amount of items going through the tubes both during the disconnects and the successful play sessions. Additionally, the server is able to function normally when outside of the area (with the area still loaded through a dimensional anchor), which means that the server is not out of RAM or processing power. It could be related to wifi signal strength, as some networks seem to consistently disconnect, while others seem more likely to connect, although I have not confirmed this. Finally, the server spams the message "[INFO] slotChanging(some random number between 0 and 46 ish)" to the server log. No idea why it does this. Googling has not turned up anything. I'm using 5 player slots, but I don't know if that's related.

Although some of the time I have been able to play without issues, most of the time I try to connect to it I am unable to play for more than a couple of seconds before being disconnected. I've attached a client log corresponding to the server log, and I have also linked the world file via Google Drive. If anyone has advice apart from "take down the crafting line and rebuild it to have less pipes, your setup is very inefficient" (I'd agree with you, and will probably do that but the disconnects make it hard to play for that long) I'd very much appreciate it.

Btw, thanks to the hardworking Aternos team for giving us these servers for free! I've been playing with my friends and it's made Minecraft a much more fun experience.

  • Good sir, please read my post before you reply. It says that I used Dyn-IP even before the tl;dr, because I knew that someone would reply to the post with what you said :p

Also, thank you for making Aternos work! It must be a fairly time consuming and tedious business, and I'm happy that you interact with users on the forums!

It's always the first message I send when it's about tekkit classic. It solved it in 99% of the cases

Do you have the same problem on a new world?
