The most recent essentials we can get is for Minecraft 1.7.2! This means there is no UUID or Spigot 1.8.* support.

Currently there is no official 1.8 Version for Essentials available on dev.bukkit.org so we can´t provide the version you wish. Best regards Roman
I know this has been mentioned before. However, it seems that you don't directly get the plugins from Bukkit anyway, as there are certain plugins missing (Ex: MCBans).

They get their plugins from dev.bukkit.org , the ones that are requested
