Hardcore lag on 1.16 servers

My friends and I noticed that the servers started lagging a lot(not breaking blocks, not being able to move, breaking blocks 9 times but still not breaking) ever since the 1.16 update surfaced. We have been using Aternos for a while on both pocket edition and on the java edition and honestly it was never this laggy. We were wondering if this lag will ever stop because we can't play normally as it won't let us move normally or break blocks.

We came on the server for the first time and it started lagging immediately. It could be because of the loading chunks, but that much? Idk, theres three of us on the server and our internet connection is good as we are able to play on other online servers such as mineplex, hive and on hypixel. Its impossible to play on the aternos servers, so i hope it gets less laggy eventually. Thank you for the reply.
