On an Aternos server, 1.16.3. Had some problems with lag, so I moved to paper and installed the following plugins:
LaggRemoverPlus
SAML
Then I realized portals don't work, and installed DirectPortals, which wasn't compatible. Then I tried BetterPortals, thinking (hoping really at this point) that it would work. It didn't. It gets stuck here when trying to go to the nether:

Make sure you have enabled the nether in the options of your server.
And check if you have world_nether in https://aternos.org/worlds/
