  • Problem: Upon starting up, old world was completely replaced with a new empty world.

    Software: PaperMC
Plugins: I don't remember the exact one, pretty sure it was minepack?
    Version: 1.17

    Log: https://mclo.gs/KcOEAHr

I had played in the world earlier today, and everything was working as it should. No errors for the plugins or datapacks, no lag, everything was still normal like usual.

I paused for a couple hours or so, and when I came back and put the server back up it completely wiped my old world. I changed absolutely nothing between when I played last and now.

Since I didn't realize that this could just randomly happen, I haven't made any backups prior to this and was wondering if there was any other way to recover a world? Or am I looking at going to have to just tell the other members of the server we have to start over from scratch again?

    Thanks for your time!

Changed the title of the thread from “World reset on startup.” to “World reset on startup. Is recovery possible?”.
  • You can only do recovery if you backed up the previous world. If not, then all your progress is gone.

Also, did you give access to any of your server members? If you gave them Worlds access, then they could delete the world and regenerate a new one.
