  • My friend just started a minecraft 1.17.1 server and after 2 weeks of playing on it the server's already over the ram limit. We have tried every option to reduce the file size,. We deleted the nether

and end files, optimized the world file, deleted unused playerdata, and even tried decreasing the region data by removing unused chunks to the point where removing anymore would be more like a complete reset. We have decreased our worldborder to only 25k blocks still the servers over the ram limit. Please help me on how to fix it without having to do a complete reset.

  • First of all ram and storage are two different things. Did you cross the ram limit or storage limit

Ok sorry i meant RAM limit. This is kinda the exact message it shows-

'Your server is currently 4.14 GB in size. The maximum allowed size is 4 GB.'
It was 4.55 gb at first i managed to reduce it to 4.14 gb but reducing any more (without undesired consequences) is not possible.

  • This error is talking about the storage limit. You might need to regenerate the world as even if you manage to reduce the world size you will soon again reach the storage limit
