How do I protect against DDOS attacks?

My server keeps getting bot attacks after I advertise in their #servers channel in discord. Few minutes ago from now, my server crashed of a bot attack. I advertised in #servers, around 2 unfamiliar people joined. And the next thing my antibot plugin spammed in console is something like this:

Dude I thought Aternos has Anti-DDOS? Okay if not how do I prevent these attacks in the future?

Thanks, I'm already using ⚡Ultimate Antibot⚡ - Blocks 20k + bots/sec - ⭐ Bungeecord & Spigot ⭐ - 500+ Servers | SpigotMC - High Performance Minecraft though, and the attacks manages to crash the server anyway.
