I have a modded server and I always like to turn on whitelist mode. I whitelisted myself, but when I try to join, it says that I'm not whitelisted. And when I turn off whitelist mode, it says that it can't resolve the hostname and that it's an unknown host. How do I fix this?
Server says that I'm not white-listed, while I am.

Unknown host means that you entered the wrong IP.
If you are sure that you are using the correct IP, try joining with the DynIp.
