  • Hello,

I have a sugestion that i want to share. I would really enjoy if You switched your servers to 64-bit java. I know that this will be a lot of work but I have a reason why should you do that.

Servers on intense modpacks (Tekkit Legends ect.) offen require much more ram then 1.5GB (the maximum of 32-bit systems) And !.5 GB might be enough for a single player game but for a server it's too low. When I had my tekkit legends server I have expirienced a lot of problems with my server running out of memory when we were playing in 3 peopole. The server crashed randomly because of the low ram ammount (the world was new)(almoust after every crash the world was corrupted and unredable).

So.. I just recommend 3GB for servers like this...

    lol

You switched your servers to 64-bit java

Our complete infrastructure is already running on 64 bit

1.5GB (the maximum of 32-bit systems)

    no

And !.5 GB might be enough for a single player game but for a server it's too low

Servers require less ram than single player.

So.. I just recommend 3GB for servers like this...

Since we are 100% free service, it is not possible to get more ram. We have limited resources and we want to ensure that these resources are used optimally.

  • My assumtions were based on a lot of experiments. I fought you are running 32-bit java on your servers because on a desktop pc java 1,5 GB of ram is how much you can give it. And I found a post on aternos forums where a aternos engienier said that when you increase the numer of slots the ammount of ram increases. (But in my expirence it didn't it was maxed out at 1.5GB. Thats on what I based my assumptions. And the first quote was a typo.
