  • I love playing on my aternos server. However, every 10 seconds or so I'll get teleported back to where I was, and also any blocks placed are gone. Sometimes it's bearable, but for the majority of the time I'm unable to play at all. I've checked google and youtube many times to see if there is a fix and/or if anyone else is having the problem, but I found nothing. The only thing I can find that might be related is in the console, where every time I get teleported, it just says "player (gamertag) moved too quickly!" then the co-ordinates where I either was or got teleported back to. I dont know what to do, and I really want to play on my server at the moment. Also in the console, there is something which says "[17:19:34] [Server thread/WARN]: Can't keep up! Is the server overloaded? Running 290439ms or 5808 ticks behind" what does this mean and how can I fix it?

  • Yeah, it's server lag. Happens sometimes (sometimes pretty often) and it's probably releated to CPU usage. May be caused by low RAM too, but i see this message on pure forge world so i don't think this is my case.

Yes, great, but this doesn't really help. This is more than just a regular occurrence, how do i fix it?

  • Unfortunately you can't. If you use some extra large modpack then try change it to something lighter. Maybe Roman know something more about this.

Welp, thanks for trying I guess. My server is just plain old vanilla, no modpacks or anything. I don't know who Roman is, but I'll try. Thanks anyway.

I just checked your account. You're using 1.13

1.13 is very very bad in performance since Mojang made huge changes in the way how minecraft stores world data etc.

We can not really change that. We already tried to enhance the performance by increasing cpu and ram resources for it. But at some point it does not really help to make it better.

We can only hope that Mojang will release newer versions with better performance soon.

  • OK you use a normal 1.13 Vanilla server so this is steps

switch to 1.13.1 its 50% less lag than 1.13

and switch to spigot and add clear Lagg if the issue continues

if you don't like clearlagg because it remove ground items add LaggRemover

tell me if the proplem continues and tell me if the lag reduced or not

    I'm already on a 1.13.1 server

Ok, thanks for the information. I'll keep checking in and see if it's fixed.
