  • In an attempt to add to the mods my server was using, I downloaded my world directly from the server and "reinstalled forge". After getting all the mods I wanted, I tried to upload the untouched file that I had just downloaded, and I got a notification saying the file was to big...

I've reverted to a backup I had just made so I have my world back on the server, but now I only have the mod I started out with. There doesn't seem to be a "mods" tab on the left side of the screen unless I reinstall forge like in the tutorial. But that deletes my world from the server. Also when looking at the general info for my server listed on the aternos.org/server tab, rather than having Forge 1.12 listed as the software, I has the name and version of the one mod I originally and currently have (Morph).

Is there anyway I can bypass the 200MB limit on world uploads? I realize I can cut away what aternos describes as "not needed chunks" but my file is 358MB, I don't think I can cut out that much data, even if I do figure out how to use mcedit. Alternatively is there anyway I can change the server software from a specific mod to forge without deleting the world?

Thanks in advance for any help,

You had morph as single mod installed which comes from our old modding system.

Since we have a new modding system you can install multiple mods on your server.

I understand your problem that you can not switch to forge without reinstalling your server and loosing the map.

I moved your server manually to forge 1.12.2 now without a reinstall.

There are now no mods installed on your server, it's just plain forge! So you should install morph now to have "the same server" just in the new system.

Also create a backup then, because each time you recover an old backup your server will be switched to the old modding system which will be removed in future.

  • Thanks! Everything seems to be working now.

BTW just wanted to give a general thank you for running aternos as well. I've got a buddy up in Canada and without you guys I probably wouldn't get to play with him as much. Thanks again and keep up the good work!
