Hey guys, I recently started playing Minecraft with 2 friends and we created an Aternos Server for it. We were playing Vanilla for a few days and everything was great but we wanted to step it up a little so I looked for some mods. These mods required to use Forge so I did watch a tutorial (by the Aternos youtube chanel) and switched the Server to Forge As far as I know everything is working...just that our World is lost. I guess that our World only exists on Vanilla(?) So I did run the Help Center thing and it told me to load a back up. I checked that out and there was no back up. I didn't conect my Aternos Account to my google account before. I also tried to upload the world from my minecraft safe file but appearently the world was only saved on the server and not in my files(?)
My question is: Is there any way to get the world back?
All 3 of us did spend many ours on building things and it would be really sad to lose it.
If you have answers for me please keep in mind that I'm new to minecraft and also to online servers. Please try to explain things in a simple way. ![]()

Depending on the software which is currently installed on your server and the software which you want to install on your server the world and other data might not be compatible.
This is the case if you switch from vanilla 1.13.2 to forge 1.12.2.
In these cases our system shows a reinstall instead of a install button and a further confirmation pop up which tells you data your world gets deleted if you confirm the software switch.
I guess that our World only exists on Vanilla(?)
No, it got deleted while switching over to forge.
So I did run the Help Center thing and it told me to load a back up. I checked that out and there was no back up. I didn't conect my Aternos Account to my google account before.
If you did not enable backups before there are no backups available of course. Therefore there is nothing to recover.
I also tried to upload the world from my minecraft safe file but appearently the world was only saved on the server and not in my files(?)
In your files? You mean on your pc? The server data is stored on our servers and not on your computer. If you downloaded the world on the worlds page in the past you might be able to upload it again.
My question is: Is there any way to get the world back?
If you did not enable backups on the backups page and did not download your world on the worlds page, no there is no way to get the world back.

Alright, that's sad. Thank you for letting me know tho. I will be more careful this time. Beginners learn by mistakes I guess..

If I have a vanilla map save, can I upload this save to my new server that uses forge?
-
Theoretically yes, however please note that your world might not compatible.
Your server might not be able to start or strange bugs may occur.

can you tell me how i can install the map? or i only need to use "upload" from this link https://aternos.org/worlds/ ?
