Paper 1.14 servers

    Good day Aternos team!



    Today I tried/tested the recently released PaperMC 1.14 server version. (I was on 1.14 Spigot before)


    I observed the following (also early impressions):


    - Seems more responsive than Spigot 1.14! :)

    - RAM is set to 1.3GB (Spigot was at 1.7GB)

    - Server saves every 10 minutes, lags for a second or 2 every time (Spigot saved every 30 minutes)

    - Chest do not play sound when closing (?) must be PaperMC bug.


    So far lags a bit less and responds better than Spigot.

    Hi, thank you for your feedback! I'm happy to hear that Paper seems to work better than Vanilla and I've done some improvements: The RAM is now (at least temporarily) increased for Paper as well. The save interval is now set to 30 minutes (like all the other 1.14 versions). The chest sound bug is nothing we can fix, you can report it here if you want: https://github.com/PaperMC/Paper

    1.14 certainly feels clunky and laggy as a whole (Thanks MOJANG! /s), I think most of the bugs/lag issues came with vanilla.


    Spigot and Paper are both on dev builds tho, it will take time to iron things out... Hope 1.14.1 fixes most stuff that came with 1.4
