Server world progress was not saved and progress lost - something to do with the IP address?

  • Me and my friends had been playing on our server for a few months. Yesterday, when we tried accessing our server with our original IP (that ended with ".aternos.me"), we couldn't enter at first, but then on the multiplayer server list screen, the caption of the server "asked" us to connect to the IP address "stingray.aternos.host:" with numbers after that. We connected to the IP address, got into our world, and played as normal. Made some progress in the game, then left the server to close.

The next day, we launched back our server, this time using our original IP address; can't seem to get to the other one. We found out that our progress made yesterday was lost, as if it wasn't saved.

Does anyone know if this problem seems to be related with the IP address change, and how we can get our save back? Thank you!

  • That explains why the server abruptly closed while I was playing, however I'm quite distraught since it was Aternos that changed our IP address to the "stingray.aternos.host" only to have it crash later.

Any chance that the IP address might have saved the world at any point of time during our play so we might be able to retrieve some progress? And that we can access it again?

We monitor all our systems, if problems arise we take them out of the pool. If you don't have any signs of problems so far, we can't do anything if they crash.

    We are not clairvoyant either.

If you did not create a backup while your server was running on that host, unfortunately no.
