I have read many threads regarding server configurations in aternos. However, there seems to be confusion between modpack configs and just MOD configs. To my knowledge, modpack configs are unable to be changed within the server. Plug-ins are editable. So now my question is that are mod config files editable?

You can edit mod and plugin as you want on e.g. bukkit or forge servers
The only thing which is not possible is to edit mod or modpack configuration files of pre-made modpacks from our modpack section on the software page: https://aternos.org/software/modpacks/
