Friend cannot join my server

Hey all,

My friend cannot join my server whenever he tries to join. He keeps getting the following error:

Internal Exception: io.netty.handler.codec.DecoderException: java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: Index: 27, Size: 5

We are both using TLauncher, and he is on Mac, while I am on Windows.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

do you see a connection attempt in the console?

Yes I do have cracked enabled on my server, but I do not seem to see a connection attempt in the console

He is using TLauncher, and he has the latest version

tell min to set his render distance to 1 and then if it works he can set it back to what he had

It still does not work for him, it gives him the same error
