  • Hi! I'm planning on creating a server, and me and a friend is testing Aternos out for our hosting site, but we're having an issue: the server keeps crashing once I join. My friend can join the server and roam around, but once I join, the whole server crashes. I have a sneaking suspicion that it may be because of a custom map i made for the server (its 707.155MB). I was wondering if somebody could help me resolve this issue. Heres the latest log:

Hope we can get this resolved!

  • Okay, I believe I figured out the issue. The map never loaded completely when I started the server for the first time, and when I flew to the areas of the map that never loaded, the server crashed. I'll try to upload the map again.

  • Try to use legacy upload (hold ctrl and press Upload button in https://aternos.org/worlds), but make sure your world's size is below 200MB

Well, thing is, the map is 707MB big, and one of the main aspects of the server is that the map will be big. I'm re-exporting the map from worldpainter as I write this in order to check if it just got exported wrongly. If this wont work, I will try to not update the map to 1.16.3 at once, and keep the server itself in 1.14, then update the server along with the map. I will also try to upload the map with another user and, then make another server to try to upload there. If this won't work, I really won't know what to do.

  • it didn't work with paper. I managed to enter the world, but it crashed after a couple of minutes. My suspicion is that there are a couple of corrupted chunks or some error with exporting from worldpainter. Although, it doesn't make sense to me, as I manage to run the world in singleplayer perfectly fine.
