Failed to verify Username

I was playing with some friends on my server. I told them that I was going to eat, and I went afk. When I got back, as I was expecting, I was no longer into my server due to being afk for too long. So I pressed the Join button, but i got an error that said "failed to verify username". Now, I am not using a cracked version of Minecraft, my account is paid and I was using Technic Launcher. My server doesn't have cracked mode enabled. Does someone know why this happened and how can I fix this?
