You can do that with some Plugins, like McDocs. I don't know if this in the Aternos list
McDocs seems to be outdated, this is not anymore on Bukkit Dev. This should do the same

The Spawn Area is only one block by default. What do you mean?

With the plugin WorldGuard. Look at YouTube for some Tutorials

You can do this with a Permissions Manager. Create some Groups and give the permissions only to the group you want. I do my things with PermissionsEx

@UglyChester: What you generally are looking for are plugins, which give you thousands of possibilities to modify the server.
To use them, you need either the CraftBukkit or Spigot server software. (install them in the software section of your my server site).
You find the plugins under "Files and Plugins".
