EssentialsX Chat

I want to change the formatting of the text via EssentialsX (1.12.2), which is in the EssentialsChat section. I was told that

EssentialsChat is installed alongside EssentialsX, but I checked my server Plugins folder, and EssentialsChat was not there.

I've tried just editing it without EssentialsChat, but it doesn't make the changes.

Are there any other ways to do this?
