Skewed world file

So I loaded up a worldfile I downloaded ages ago on Aternos but the seed is different and the player placed blocks are now scattered all over the place (this is in 1.16 so I guess that's not supposed to happen), is there some problem with the file or is it the problem of the server?

On which version did you use the world when you downloaded it?

i downloaded it in 1.16.5 and loaded it in 1.18, since it was messed up i tried it in 1.16.5 and it was still messed up

loading a world in an older version is not supported and will always cause problems

the world was downloaded in an older version though

and it didnt work in 1.18 either

The world you downloaded back then was already broken or you somehow made changes to it to break it
The world is not a 1.16.5 world
The world is not the world you think it is

well i did download it in 1.16.4 but i doubt it could make any difference

i downloaded the map in january but i played on it till late june

and i dont remember having any maps with the distinct blocks i see scattered

are there any ways to fix it though?
