Hello! I was wondering if backing up a server would save the player data. Me and my friends have a lot of progress on a world, and we would like to add some plugins to make the game more lively! If we can't, its fine, but we would really like to add more convenience plugins. Thanks!
Does the server backup save peoples data?

Yes, the backup saves your playerdata, world, plugins/mods, addons, version, software. Basically everything on your server

So if I were to transfer the "vanilla" server to like Spigot/Bukkit and reload the backup, all the progress will be saved?

If you do this it will just be vanilla again

Now that's just confusing o-o
Can someone give a more detailed description? I don't think I can load a backup on a different server to test .-.
In other words, how can I make it so the backup works without reupdating it to vanilla when I change it to Spigot/Bukkit, if thats possible anyways -
Vanilla > Spigot won't reset anything, so you can switch without needing to transfer the world
