What happens when you try to do so?

Did you try seeing if Forge is up to date? Updating your forge and version is useful. Creates less lag and it might help with your problem.

Oh. Checke if the MOD VERSIONS are up to date then. And try using a newer version of the game.

yeah but dont go further than 1.12.2, going further into 1.13 you will have to accept 1 minute per tick or just losing all your progress
