I made a server for me and my friend to play on which contains the origins mod and I can join but when they try to join it tells them to install the origins mod even though they have the mod and we're both using the same version.
My friend can't join my server

Did he start the right profile in the launcher?

Yes and we made sure we both had the same mod files in our mods folder but it still wanted them to install the origins mod
you need to launch minecraft with fabric
